PLATAFORMA DE EDUCACIÓN BILINGÜE
SDAIE? Sheltered Instruction?
Jana Echevarria sent me a message saying she didn't agree with the term SDAIE (term mainly used in California), she says that a broader term could be "sheltered instruction". We have to agree what terms we should use here.
If we refer to content and language instruction, I think we should use the term CLIL, although the term CBI, is mainly used in America.
In this group within BEP, I want to create a discussion group on an appropiate model when planning content and language instruction in the classroom. When I refer to SDAIE here, I was thinking on it. The SIOP Model is a good example of what I mean but, is the SIOP Model too restricted to the american context or could it be used in any other context?
