- I'm trying to bring up my children in a "bilingual way". Although I'm Spanish, I've spoken English to them since they were born. It's being a wonderful experience!!

I have found that it is actually difficult to bring up my sons bilingually in England as people often do not see the benefits (yes,I know). The attitude tends to be, if they can speak English, what should they need another language? In the educational system, languages have also been hit hard over the past 4-5 years and many secondary schools do not actually teach languages post-14. In addition, there are still a lot of entrenched ideas that children are going to get "confused" with another language, that it is too complicated etc... So there is quite a lot that remains to be done to educate people about bilinguism!!!
