Profile Information

Why are you interested in bilingual education?
I believe CBI/CLIL is an excellent framework for the development of teaching techniques and procedures as well as materials for the learning/teaching of modern languages, and English in particular.
What's your experience on bilingual education?
I've participated in 2 projects for the development of materials for the bilingual sections of the ESO in Murcia. The projects have been designed and developed by a team of university teachers in collaboration with secondary education teachers of English. It has been funded by the University of Murcia and the regional government of the Comunidad Autónoma de la Región de Murcia. We have developed materials for the teaching/learning of History (4º ESO) and Geography (3º ESO) in English.
I have also participated in a project to develop content-based materials for teaching/learning English at the level of 1º Bachillerato. We designed a whole course and developed a block of units, where we selected materials for reading and listening practice, designed activities to accompany those texts; designed grammar and vocabulary exercises in the context of those texts, etc. The material was implemented in a secondary school in Murcia, and the student and teacher reaction was very positive.
I've developed other materials within a content-based framework and I've published in the field of content-based instruction (CBI) / content and language integrated learning (CLIL).

Schools working on BE in Murcia

I think bilingual education is here to stay, but needs to be much more widespread. Is there anybody in this platform that knows about bilingual education in Murcia? Of course, there are a few private institutions, but in public education? Which public schools and IES in Murcia work on BE?
