Profile Information

Why are you interested in bilingual education?
I am doing research on this area. I have also worked as a teacher in semmiimersion-in-foreign-language classrooms.
What's your experience on bilingual education?
As an English teacher working at primary and secondary education in Barcelona, I took advantage of the natural co-existence of Catalan and Spanish in classrooms to introduce English as a means of communication within the classroom or to enhance the learners' skills when communicating in English. Using Catalan and Spanish as resources can be very helpful even when taking the CLIL approach to teaching.

Hi Zoraida,
I'm glad to see that you've joined the Teacher's Needs in Language.. group. Maybe you could add a comment there explaining how you take advantage of the mother tongue(s) in the English CLIL classroom - I completely agree with that approach and I'm sure many people would benefit from your experience.
